About Us

Founded in 1983, Digital AV  started as a digital convergence engineering company. The primary focus of the company was to build integrated digital image and audio systems for the medical industry. Beginning in 1985 we designed systems which made the physician's and other healthcare workers' role as a knowledge worker an automatic product of the medical procedure. Levels of automation allowed images, voice, text, and/or graphical annotation to become integrated parts of knowledge processes. The knowledge process operated as an extension to the information process. Our health care designs can be found in a wide range of providers as represented by: Emory Hospital, St. Mary's Hospital, TeamHealth, and The Endoscopy Center. 

In 1986, the company was awarded the design contract for the first "all digital" picture wire service by United Press International. This "all digital" group design entailed the capturing, the initial edit, the transmission, the picture management, and satellite delivery to newspaper locations of newsbreaking pictures. In 1987 the product was delivered and announced by UPI as "PYXYS". 

Since 1990, we have been involved with Canon International in developing advance document solutions. This project involves the conversion of user friendly office machines into group workflow solutions which can support and interface with Knowledge Management Solutions.

In 1996 Digital AV decided to become a virtual corporation, leveraging our experience in team computing and allowing us to expand our capabilities without geographic boundaries, and thus now offer solutions in Knowledge Management with Virtual teaming, Messaging and collaboration, and e-business architectures.

In order to succeed in our market, you must have industry partners. Digital AV has many; however our two largest partnerships are with IBM and Lotus Development Corporation, which both have recognized us at their highest premier business partners  status.
